Jessica Ryan

President

Jessica joined DiGamma Kappa in Fall 2025. She has loved attending meetings that create an environment to meet students with the same aspirations and interests, while also connecting with professionals in the industry

​

She handles:

  • Leading monthly meetings and coordinating guest speaker sessions.

  • Overseeing membership engagement and communication channels (including GroupMe).

  • Managing logistics and planning for DGK’s annual New York City trip.

  • Supervising all organizational processes to maintain growth and member involvement.

Julia beauchamp
Vice President

Julia joined DiGamma Kappa in Fall 2025. Her favorit DGK memorie was traveling to NYC last year and meeting Deborah Roberts. She is most excited to get to meet new members, reconnecting with current members and making the club a super fun and helpful space for everyone! 

​

Her primary responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the President with organizational planning and execution.

  • Leading recruitment and outreach efforts to grow membership and engagement.

  • Acting as a liaison between DGK and Grady College professionals to strengthen industry connections.

Jack Cooney
Director of Finance

Jack has been a member of DiGamma Kappa for one year and had the incredible opportunity to join the 2026 New York industry trip, where his favorite memory  was touring the CNN New York. He is most excited to see DGK grow and reach even more people this year!

 

His key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the organization’s overall budget and financial planning.

  • Budgeting for bi-weekly meetings and major events, including the annual New York City trip.

  • Handling reimbursements and maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Collecting and managing member dues.

  • Allocating funds for special functions, such as DGK’s winter banquet.

Caroline Scurlock
Director of Professional Development

Caroline joined DGK as a freshman. Her favoriet memorie from DiGamma Kappa was this year's New York Industry trip. She is most excited to hear from some insightful speakers!

 

Her core tasks include:

  • Reaching out to professionals in the journalism industry and invites them to share their stories with members

  • Helping members build a professional network before graduation

  • Showing students that the path to success varies for everyone

Camilla O'connell
Director of Marketing & Engagement

Camilla is a sophomore at the UGA. She joined DGK during the beginning of her freshman year attending meeting, socials and our annual New York industry trip. She’s excited to get to know everyone this year and help share all the amazing things DGK does!​ ​

Her primary roles involve​:

  • Oversees all social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn

  • Designs and updates the DGK website

  • Creates graphics for social media content

  • Organizes club socials

  • Reaches out to new members

  • Engages with current members by highlighting them on social media
