Michael Doti
director of travel

As Director of Professional Travel for DiGamma Kappa, Michael's main duties include planning trips to various broadcast and media stations. The director of travel plans a couple of trips to organizations or stations within Georgia. In the past, we visited CNN's Atlanta station and WTOC-TV in Savannah. We also plan a trip to New York City to visit studios like Good Morning America and The TODAY Show. We also try to incorporate some stops at PR firms and other communication organizations for our non-journalism members. Michael coordinates the entirety of the trips which makes for an exciting networking opportunity!

She stays busy budgeting the bi-weekly meetings, handling reimbursements, being responsible for dues and most importantly — budgeting our New York City trip and other functions throughout the year, like our winter banquet.

Harper blankenship
director of development

Harper is the Director of Development for DiGamma Kappa. His job is to reach out to professionals in the journalism industry and invite them to share their stories with our members. Harper has two main goals: to help our members build a professional network before they graduate and to help students see that the path to success doesn’t look the same for everyone.

Julianna Washburn
director of marketing & engagement

Julianna's responsibilities as Director of Marketing & Engagement include all the logistics of meetings, banquets, and initiation. She works very closely with Professor Cantrell, Grady liaisons and other organizations to set up rooms for our meetings. In the fall, Julianna is in charge of planning our banquet and initiation of new members, and in the spring, she collaborates with Georgia Association of Broadcasters to host our winter banquet where we give our Distinguished Achievement Award to an honorary guest speaker! Last year, our honoree was Loran Smith.

In addition, Julianna oversees all of our social media accounts including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and she designs and updates the DGK website. She is responsible for creating graphics on our social media. Julianna is also in charge of reaching out to new members and engaging with current members through our blog on the website and highlighting members on social media.
